Although a new site, ArboristApps is looking forward to bringing arborists across the globe further practical tree related resources direct to their smartphones. Perhaps you have an idea for an app? Perhaps you own an app and are looking to promote it beyond the appstore and marketplace platforms. ArboristApps is linked directly to Arbtalk, which with 70,000 unique visitors every month makes it the single largest arborist networking site in the UK. If you want to get your product out to the UK as well as international market, there really is no better place for it than here. Please get in touch if you are interested in working together.

The databases which make up the basis of the arborist knot and fungi ID apps originate from the existing online galleries at Arbtalk. The first of these, the fungi ID gallery opened in July 2010, with the knot guide opening just over a year later. Both galleries proved to be very popular with the Arbtalk membership, and it soon became evident that people were using these galleries whenever they could, which included out in the field subject to their mobile reception at the time…….which was generally a huge sticking point. With that in mind, work began on the iPhone and android apps in the September 2011. Now some 8 months later we are extremely excited to be able to deliver these galleries to smartphone users worldwide, in a very slick, fast interface. The best part???….after the initial download you can browse the apps without the need for mobile reception, making it a truly mobile resource for fungi identification and knot tying out in the field.

In the modern days of smart phones, everyone’s talking about the latest ‘app’ on the market. You only need to visit Apple’s appstore to see there are literally hundreds of apps being uploaded every day. Sure most of these are junk, a vast majority are games, but there are also an increasing amount of functional business related apps that really can and do make every day jobs that bit more efficient. This was the reason behind the development of the fungi and knot apps. To give every arborist access to a useful, functional reference point that could be kept at arms reach throughout the course of the working day. Our apps offer no gimmicks, just good quality and accurate information in the palm of your hand when you need it most. The fact that our apps just happen to look the slickest on the market is just an added bonus!!
